  One thing I learned from furniture shopping is that it is expensive. More than I had anticipated, at least. This place is great especially if you're not looking to drop a lot of money for some furniture. They have a large selection and are very reasonably priced. We checked out art van, initially, but everything we looked at was out of our budget. AF hooked us up with a nice couch with ottoman. When we got the couch home it was just slightly too long to get it in the room. We took it back and got hooked up with a sectional that had more seating but smaller pieces. It ended up working perfectly and was better for the room in the end. Matt, the sales rep, was very helpful, patient and willing to work with us. The loading crew loaded/unloaded 2 large couches for us even when they were getting close to closing time. They earned our business and we definitely appreciate the effort after a couole weeks of trying to find a good solution. We will be back for our other furniture needs. I would give a 5 star but the 2nd couch we received, one of the sections didnt have the holes for the legs to go in. Im confident AF would have fixed the issue but it seemed like an unnecessary hassle after the weekend we already had. We just drilled them ourselves and put them on. If you're on a budget and dont want to spend art van prices for new furniture then I highly recommend giving AF a chance to earn your business.

  Anyone looking to buy furniture, do NOT go to American Freight Furniture and Mattress, or do any business with Big Mitten Moving. They are a crooked employer and don't like to pay their employees. When confronted about the lack of pay, the bosses turn into complete assholes. Dangerous working conditions, tax fraud, under the table pay, and crooked bosses. Day in and day out, I was forced to deal with things such as a box truck that won't even go 60mph on the highway, hard manual labor for very little pay, and ignorant bosses. Employees before me dealt with a sprint van which was leaking exhaust fumes into the cab, constantly breaking down, and having its doors fling wide open on the highway. It boiled down to this, either getting paid for the day and getting fired, or backing down and not getting the pay that I deserved and earned. If I could give 0 stars, I would.

  If you choose to buy here, ONLY BUY ITEMS IN STOCK. I purchased two mattresses in store when they only had one in stock. They told me the other one would arrive in 30 days. That period has passed and now I practically have to harass them to get them to move on finding my furniture. I've been calling on a weekly-bi-weekly basis asking for updates on my missing order. The customer service rep said that they would check with their manager and call me back in a few minutes only to never call me back. After reading the other negative reviews I see this is a pattern. Other customers have had to wait MONTHS beyond the 30 day period and I decided that I simply will not wait any longer to then pay $100 in delivery when I could go get a couch around the same price right now somewhere else. At this point I am going to demand a refund (this must be done in person by the way) and take my business elsewhere. If you choose to go in person and demand a refund DO NOT LET THEM TALK YOU INTO ANYTHING. Get your money and go. There are other discount furniture stores in the area that do a much better job of taking care of business.

  Thanks for all the insight. Me and my wife are looking for new furniture, and I seen the American freight ad in the mail. So decided to look at reviews. Safe to say I will not shop there. All I see this company does is spin you in circles. Once they have your money. And I see they do respond to reviews by saying if you have any issues feel free to email them but several review I've read they don't respond to emails. I'd rather spend a little more money and get better quality from another company. Seems like I'm going to art van. Again thanks for all the insight. Remember American freight people are more concerned with negative reviews then positive ones. And your negative reviews are why I will not shop with you.
